Preferred by Nature issues the first FSC® Regulatory Module certificate in Lithuania to UAB Juodeliai, in compliance with EUDR requirements

This spring, during the FSC Chain of Custody audit at the wood processing company UAB Juodeliai, not only was the scope of the certificate updated, but the FSC Regulatory Module certificate was also issued, in compliance with EUDR requirements.

UAB Juodeliai has become the first company in Lithuania to receive the FSC Regulatory Module certificate issued by Preferred by Nature, in compliance with EUDR requirements.
It’s another step towards a transparent, responsible, and deforestation-free timber supply chain aligned with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which aims to reduce the EU’s impact on global deforestation and forest degradation. The system — which will apply to all companies from the end of this year through mid-2026, depending on the category and type — will help UAB Juodeliai implement a comprehensive due diligence procedure, including information collection, risk assessment, and risk mitigation, to ensure that products are not linked to deforestation or forest degradation and comply with the laws of the country of production.

One of the leading manufacturers of wooden pallet components in Europe, UAB Juodeliai also successfully expanded the scope of its Chain of Custody certificate in Poland during this audit, thereby complementing the certified timber supply from Latvia launched in 2024.

The audit was carried out by UAB Juodeliai’s long-standing partner, the international certification organisation Preferred by Nature, which assessed UAB Juodeliai’s compliance with five FSC Chain of Custody system standard requirements: FSC Chain of Custody (FSC-STD-40-004 V3-1), FSC Controlled Wood (FSC-STD-40-005 V3-1), FSC Trademark Use (FSC-STD-50-001 V2-1), FSC Multi-site Certification (FSC-STD-40-003 V2-1), and FSC Regulatory Module (FSC-STD-01-004 V1-0), in compliance with EUDR requirements.

Successfully passing the annual audit confirms that the company adheres not only to circular economy principles but also to sustainability goals, and — in line with customer expectations — responsibly implements the requirements of the established certification systems.
