Expanded SURE audit certification scope at UAB Juodeliai

As part of the ongoing voluntary certification process under the SURE scheme, UAB Juodeliai underwent a recertification audit of all production plan at the beginning of February this year. The scope of certification was expanded to include the recently launched wood Anti-Stain Treatment (AST) facility in Radviliškis.

This marks the third consecutive year of voluntary assessment of the company’s operations in accordance with the requirements of the SURE-EU Certification Scheme, which implements the sustainability criteria set out in Directive (EU) 2018/2001 (RED II, as updated under RED III).

Following the audit, Preferred by Nature OÜ confirmed that the by-products generated during UAB Juodeliai’s manufacturing processes – wood chips, sawdust, and bark – comply with the sustainability requirements set out in the European Union (EU) RED II Directive and are suitable for biofuel production.
