ISO 9001
International standard ISO 9001 does not necessarily mean a high quality of products and services, produced by the company. The certificate signifies that the company is continuously offering products and services that meet customer needs and regulatory requirements. In other words, ongoing processes, affecting the company’s quality, are compliant with the requirements of the standards. The quality management system, which has been implemented in accordance with the requirements of the standards, ensures the continuity of the client requirement fulfillment that starts with the receipt of the order and continues to the date of its design, manufacturing, warehousing and delivery.
ISO 14001
ISO 14001 is an internationally recognized standard that has been considered for implementation of the environmental management system. This standard helps the organization to identify environmental aspects, determine their value and manage them as one of the areas of business. The requirements of the standards specify which elements of the management system should be implemented by the organization to achieve its goals in the field of environmental protection. Basically, it means reduction of the manufacturing processes and the impact of products and services on the environment as well as expansion of business opportunities of the organization.
OHSAS 18001
OHSAS 18001 is a management system of occupational safety and health. OHSAS 18001 has been designed to ensure the safety and health of employees, to reduce the number of accidents at work and the sickness rate of employees. Both employees and employers are concerned about it.
FSC®
Forest Stewardship Council® (hereinafter – FSC®) – is an international, non-profit, independent, non-governmental organisation. Currently, FSC® is one of the most popular certification programmes for forest and wood industry companies. Certification organisations authorised by FSC® provide two types of certification:
- Forest management certification, where forest management and use are assessed according to FSC® principles and criteria;
- Chain of custody certification for industrial and trade companies that process timber or trade in timber products or tree seeds, seedlings, etc.
On 4 May 2010, NEPCon LT, the partner of the FSC® accredited company Rainforest Alliance in Lithuania, has successfully certified the chain of custody and production (e.g. pallet elements, wooden blocks) of the timber processing company Juodeliai UAB according to the requirements of the FSC® standard (certificate number: SW-COC-004863). The company was certified based on two standards, including FSC-STD-40-004.
