Representatives of UAB Juodeliai to take part in the international trade fair for forestry and wood industries LIGNA 2013

LIGNA, the world’s premier trade fair for the forestry and wood industries, was introduced on 5 February this year in Berlin. This event is traditionally held every two years in Hannover, Germany. This year’s event will take place on 6–10 May.

One of the organisers, Dr. J. Köckler, emphasised that LIGNA was and remains the world’s key event of this type, which presents not only the novelties of the wood industry, but also introduces the latest technology and products and defines new directions for the wood and related industries.

Topics covered at LIGNA include forestry industry and forestry technology; bioenergy from wood; production of wood processing machinery and saws, solid wood, slabs and furniture; wood gouging and other artistic wood work; tools; and new designer and architect ideas.

LIGNA 2011 was attended by 1,765 participants from 52 countries; the number of foreign visitors was 26 per cent higher compared to the 2009 fair. It is estimated that LIGNA 2013 will have approximately 1,700 participants from 50 countries, with approximately 90,000 visitors from 90 countries visiting the fair over the 5-day period. Most of the visitors are normally professionals in various fields who are looking not only for new ideas but also for new business contacts. Most of the participants come from countries with old wood industry traditions—Germany, Italy, Austria, Sweden and Switzerland.

The managers of UAB Juodeliai attended LIGNA 2011, where their experience was very positive and they learned a lot about novelties in the market. This year, the company also plans to attend LIGNA 2013 and familiarise itself with novelties and meet both current and potential partners.
